Top 3 entries by Friday, May 21 will win a set of the magnets. You must be following us on Twitter or be our Facebook fan to be eligible to win. When the App Magnets were first released in March, Yael, from one of our all-time favorite blogs, The Dieline, dropped a note about featuring them on her influential and widely-read online packaging resource. It was our great pleasure, being the fans that were and are, to send her a sample so they could better photograph and examine our newest product. After a few weeks of waiting, the article and two beautiful images have been posted. We have to admit that it’s a great honor to have our product highlighted for its packaging — a craft we’ve worked tirelessly at perfecting. Included in the article, which is embedded below, is their review of the package and the product, along with some thoughts from Jason about how the magnets came to be and what they represent to us here at the Jailbreak Collective. Please check it out below, or head over to The Dieline and read it on their turf. Thanks, Yael! We appreciate it. The Jailbreak Collective Here and Now — Notes About Our New Identity

This week, as you may have noticed, there have been quite a few design changes here on The Jailbreak Blog and over at JailbreakCollective.com, our umbrella company’s website and online store. After months and months of tinkering with our preferred aesthetic, we feel like we’ve created a duo of fun, minimal, easily navigable spaces that perfectly encompass our products, content and brand identity. We appreciate any and all feedback, whether it be positive or negative, so please drop a line if you feel so inclined. Other major company changes, including information pertaining to blog content and Product Art, are highlighted below. Stop The Presses: App Magnets Have Officially Arrived!

We are pleased to announce the release of our newest piece of Product Art: App Magnets. Whatever you want to do…There’s an app for that. That’s right. Whether you want to buy movie tickets, read the news, write a review, pay a tip, catch a taxi, or even train your dog, there’s an app for that. But what if you want to hang a photo on the fridge? Or leave a note on the microwave? Or save that Chinese take-out menu in a place where you can’t lose it? When it came to certain old-school tasks, the apps were coming up short. A little reverse innovation was needed. Well, good news, everyone…Now there’s an app for that, too. Introducing the App Magnets by the Jailbreak Collective! In order to bring the magic of the iPhone into the third dimension, we asked an artist to reach into the iPhone home screen and literally pluck out the apps. Then we added a little magnetism. And best of all, we mass produced them so now you too can own your very own set of 3-D App Magnets! The only place in the world where these are available is through our online store. Each set of 18 epoxy magnets measure 7/8″ x 7/8″ and are packaged in a large iPhone replica. They cost $12.99. For a limited time if you buy three app magnets or more shipping will be free. Simply enter “3forFREE” upon checkout. Check back in the coming days as we will be announcing a very exciting contest involving an even more exciting technological device. It has been quite a couple of years for us here at Jailbreak Collective, and the Obama Action Figure is probably the biggest reason why. While we don’t expect accolades for our humble game-changing products, it’s always nice to get a little bit of love, especially in a market that’s become increasingly saturated since we embarked on this exciting journey. Our esteemed colleague, toy and pop culture aficionado, Jeremy Brautman, was asked by a friend to send her his favorite toy from 2009. Since his knowledge about toys outweighs–albeit barely–his vast collection of them, Jeremy was stumped and instead threw together a list of the Top Ten 2009 Production Art Toys Under $50. And what do you know? Our very own Hope Obama Action Figure found its way onto the impressive list at No. 6! Click here to see the full countdown. Filling the role traditionally reserved for the Grinch, US Customs has utterly and thoroughly ruined Christmas for the Jailbreak and a few hundred of our nicest customers by holding our entire shipment in customs for two weeks (and counting). Please help us by sending a message to the bureaucrats in LA who seem to be intent on killing our small business through sheer and overwhelming indifference. In the subject line, put this message: “Free Michelle Obama! Container #00LU865121″. |
