I’ve always enjoyed spotting this crocheted bike around the Lower East Side in New York. It’s a cool bit of installation art that has the unique ability to move around the city at the artist’s whim.
The artist in question is Crocheted Olek (AKA Polish-born, NYC-based Agata Olek), who just completed her latest work, the complete crocheting of Wall Street’s Charging Bull (shown above). According to HFA, the installation lasted two hours before it was taken down.
I don’t know what’s more impressive: the fact that she pulled this off at all, or that it stayed in one of the most heavily-trafficked tourist areas in the city for that long.
Very cool piece.
