As a follow-up to their Framework poster we featured earlier today, the “Every Guyed” Network has just released Ensemble: The Style of Music, a similarly nicely illustrated guide to iconic outfits worn by 20 of the most fashionable men in music history. Illustrated by Boulder, Colorado-based artist Josh Holland, this hipster fabulous poster was created for a PBR-themed art show in Denver, and subsequently used for the beer’s billboard ad in several major cities. Check out more of Josh’s work on his website.
Designed by Moxy Creative‘s Glenn Manucdoc for the blog Framegeek, this poster details 28 of the most iconic pairs of men’s shades from the past 100 years. The journalism student in me is pained by their questionable apostrophe usage, but I suppose it can be excused since creativity and punctuation skills aren’t always synonymous. GameTrailersTV explores the scientific legitimacy of the lightsaber in an interview with Dr. Michio Kaku, who explains whether or not it’s even possible for one to exist, and what it would take for lightsabers to function like they do in Star Wars IRL. Today we’re digging the clean style of UK-based illustrator Stanley Chow. Hit the jump to check out 14 more of his excellent pastel-infused pop-culture caricatures, including Lady Gaga, Larry David, Bill Murray and two other Mad Men. Many of the works in this post are available as posters through Chow’s online shop. This is not your typical tourism promotion video but, then again, if you read this blog you’re probably not a typical tourist. Personally, I’m entranced by this footage and though I’ve never actually heard of Kerala and would be hard pressed to find it on a map, I’m ready to pack my bags. The film, titled “Your Moment is Waiting” was made made for the Kerala Tourism Board by Prakash Varma who gets props from us for going way outside of the box and bringing art to what could arguably be considered the most banal medium known to man. [via Adpunch] According to this nifty animation by The New Leaf, if California citizens vote yes on prop 19 next week, the state will gain $1.4 billion in tax revenue and 100,000 new jobs will be created. It’s time to start rethinking the marijuana laws in this country and prop 19 is a great start. Come on, California! Thanks, Michael Jeter!
