The Space Invader Couch

0

While I assume this Space Invader couch actually exists, it’s hard to tell these days with people and their crazy Photoshop skills. The blurb on designer/conceiver Igor Chak’s website suggests it is, in fact, the real deal. Chak says, “the couch is all leather, with two glass surfaces. Although it might look uncomfortable, it’s actually really soft…and made with memory foam.”

From his bio, Chak seems like a pretty legitimate guy, so we’re inclined to take his word for it. Plus, the couch is featured in the “industrial” section of his website, when there’s also a “conceptual” area, where it is not.

A further skim through his bio reveals Chak is somewhat of a nomad; born in Russia, and raised in Toyko and Seattle. He received his education in industrial design (hint #3) at the Art Institute in Seattle, before taking a few jobs and eventually landing a position as a prototyping specialist at Nokia.

If his life hasn’t intrigued you already, Chak says he’s finally found his passion in life: motorcycle design. With two concepts already completed, Chak is working on a third, for a 2030 BMW Motorrad, which he says will be, “visually and technologically stunning.”

Check out a few more pics of the Space Invader couch below. Final verdict: real.
