Leather Machine Gun Trades Bullets for Books

2

This is not just a leather machine gun against a bright red backdrop. It’s a book. Well, it’s sort of both. Yes, a leather machine gun that folds open into a 120-page blank journal. Or, as the artist suggests, an unconventional wedding guest book. And it’s for sale. Too good to be true? Check out the jump for info and picture evidence.

The Machine Gun Book is the latest creation by Montreal-based artist, T. Forsythe. The shell of the gun itself is made from high quality black leather and measures 32.5″ long and 11.5″ wide. The paper in the journal is called ‘White Canal’ from Montreal papermakers, Saint-Armand.

It costs $999.99. Purchase the one-of-a-kind journal/gun here.

Also available for sale from Forsythe’s Strikebooks Studio are the 357 Magnum Revolver Book ($125.00 — Purchase) and the Hammer Journal ($225.00 — Purchase).

Just off the top of my head here are a few people who might appreciate having this as their wedding guest book: James Bond, Osama Bin Laden, Karl Malone, Charlton Heston and Tony Soprano. Help me out with other gun-loving folks in the comments section

    I'm sorry.

But this is kind of errm, shit.

Not only is the price preposterous but with workmanship is pretty horrible.

It's not even one of those not-so-practical-one-of-a-kind-expensive items that are used to raise money for a proper cause.

thanks for your input, monica. my advice would be not to buy it! i agree that the price he’s asking is egregious but alas it’s his work and the price should be whatever he chooses.
