Welcome to day two of our inaugural Digital Advent Calender a.k.a. The Jailbreak’s 25 Days of a New York City Christmas. If you’re just tuning in, here’s how it works: Each morning (or mid-afternoon, depending on the alcohol intake from the previous evening) from now until Christmas, we’ll be revealing a handmade, NYC-themed gift idea to fulfill your holiday needs. Yesterday, we featured John Golden’s City Blocks. Today, allow us to present Los Angeles-based artist, Sean Finocchio’s, wonderful series of NYC Food Cart Prints.
There’s hardly anything more synonymous with the streets of New York City than the over-population of its various food carts. The smells that waft through the air and the food mongers who hawk nuts and hot dogs have become a part of our daily routines. We’re mostly desensitized, sure. But their omnipotence is undeniable.
Finocchio’s series of limited edition prints include, kebab, pretzel, gyro, hot dog and nut cart versions. Each was printed in an edition of 100 on 12.5″ x 12.5″ archival paper. One costs $25.00, but all five are offered for the discounted price of $100.00.
