While this might not be completely “new” news, I noticed that Madrid street-artist SpY recently updated his portfolio with a bunch of nice installations from New York, Madrid, Bilbao and Rotterdam, Holland. His work stems from a keen perception of the current urban and social climate, with same-sex marriage, invasion of privacy and the economic crisis simply some of the issues discussed. SpY prides himself on creating non-invasive pieces that are drenched in irony; bits of intelligent conversation-starters hidden around the corner that are there to see if one so desires.

Seven more on the other side. Artist’s website.

“Balloons” in Zaragoza, Spain

“Bull” in Wall Street, NYC

“Spider Web”

“Ramp”

“For Security Reasons” in Rotterdam, Holland
