As Playboy is to a 12-Year-Old — Minimalist TV-Show Posters

Anyone who reads The Jailbreak knows that we’re big-time suckers for minimalist graphic design, especially in the form of movie and television posters. So this ongoing series of the latter by art director, Albert Exergian, signifies, more or less, our creative wet dream. Exergian’s work can be likened to that of brilliant Israeli illustrator Noma Bar, in that both use images to convey not what something looks like but rather what it actually is. But since Exergian doesn’t depict people–like Bar does–he uses an iconic symbol from each show to represent that show’s identity or over-arching theme. As minimally as possible, of course. Really nice work.

Weeds, House, The Wire, Californication, Lost, Sex in the City, The Simpsons, Friends, Mad Men and True Blood posters (among others) on the flip.
