Lord of the Flies by William Golding is one of those quintessential books from childhood that struck me as provocative and important before I had a true understanding of what those words meant in reference to literature. A new edition of the book, featuring six stunning watercolor illustrations by Brooklyn-based artist, Sam Weber, will be released this December by the membership-based Folio Society. Weber, who also designed the cover, finished each image digitally before reproducing them in four-color offset printing for the book.

The re-release includes a foreword by renowned-author, Ian McEwan, and costs $44.95. However, the Folio Society requires a membership to purchase anything from its catalog. More information about joining can be found here.
