The creative agency, DDB New Zealand, took a big chance by showing dead people in clothes they’re trying to promote. But it works. Really, really well.
Kudos.

We love innovative ideas that break the rules of how things are supposed to be done. And advertising is one of those industries where agencies repeatedly take chances, even when the outcome could be disastrous for the company they represent.
How could they not? We, as a society, have become so immune to all forms of advertising that it simply drifts past us without notice. But then are those few gems that force us to stop and take note.
Such is that case with these new macabre adverts for New Zealand clothing and shoe brand, Superette. They proclaim, “Be Caught Dead In It,” and suggest that wearing this product is fashionable even in death.
