Frank Sinatra caricature print by prolific illustrator and cartoonist, Drew Friedman. The initial release of the print is limited to an edition of only 35–with Nos. 1/35-10/35 available currently for $165.00. Each subsequent offering (11/35, etc.) will be more expensive. Buy one here on the relatively cheap. [Via Boing Boing] Friedman’s illustrations have appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, Time and The Wall Street journal.
I’m a big fan of both photographer Noah Kalina and artist Aakash Nihalani, as they each seem to continuously push the boundaries of their respective craft. So, their collaborative effort–pictured above; titled In ‘n’ Out–is a welcome surprise on this rainy Monday evening. After the jump I’ve also included three of Nihalani’s most recent works from his trip to India (he lives and works out of NYC).
Vader print by artist Joshua Budich. It measures 18″ x 24,” and will be limited to 100 copies when it goes on sale Thursday, December 3rd at 3 p.m. EST. Visit Budich’s website for more information. [via omg posters!]
From Duffy London comes this coffee table that interacts with the rug beneath it. The table itself is shaped like a classic children’s sled, which sits in two grooves in the white carpet, making it seem as if the sled is jetting through the snow. [via] $1,000, here.
The ‘Let’s Face It’ print series by illustrator, Ryan Feerer, comes in four facially-worded versions, which feature different romantic quips that would make even the most stone-hearted woman gush. Each one, including You Make Me Smile (above, click here to buy), measures 24″ x 36,” is limited to an edition of 50, and costs $40.00. Available through The Supermarket. See the other three after the break. This video, titled “Lego Matrix Trinity Help,” was conceived and created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Matrix. Using legos to re-create what is perhaps the most famous sequence from the film–the bullet-time-dodge scene–the two directors spent an estimated 400 hours completing the 44 second clip. What’s even more impressive is that it’s “frame accurate,” meaning they took each of the 900 frames from that part in the movie and reproduced them all in legos. Check out this website for more info. Click through to see a side-by-side comparison of the real life version vs. the lego version.
Above; $35.00, here. Lots of Keith Haring-inspired products out there for your holiday shopping needs–including domino sets, chairs, fabric patches, and these removable wall graphics from Blik. Available in Dancers (shown above and first below), Large Radiant Babies, and Barking Dogs (both shown below) versions.
We’ve covered French illustrator, Stéphane Massa-Bidal (aka Hulk4598, or Rétrofuturs) twice previously, as his work has, and continues to amaze. His first quote series saw Massa-Bidal take famous quips from history’s most eccentric individuals and place them on artsy collage prints. After directing his attention toward other subjects for a while, he’s returned with another series of quote prints that feature wise words from Oscar Wilde (pictured above), Yoda, Sharon Stone, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Zappa, and, ahem, Eva Longoria (all shown below). Some of his work is available to buy via Zazzle. Otherwise click here to see his Flickr photostream. One word can be used to describe The Muppets cover of Queen’s classic song Bohemian Rhapsody, and that word would be epic. Watch it!
Twisted and vaguely sadistic, sure. But this blood-bath shower curtain could also prove to be one hell of a successful and continuous practical joke on unsuspecting house guests. Hitchcock would be proud of whomever designed this. $20.00, here. Read the rest of this entry » |
