Jodi Kantor has written an in-depth and insightful piece about the marriage of Barack and Michelle Obama for The New York Times Magazine.
The article, while a thorough examination of a the first couple’s relationship, is more about Michelle’s struggle to compromise her notions of a normal marriage so her husband could make a name for himself in politics.
It’s really interesting to learn about the dynamics of a family thrust into the political spotlight. Both of them readily admit that it wasn’t always easy, and their methods of perseverance should be admired.
