In one of the more ingenious ‘art as product’ ideas of late, Jailbreak amigo Sucklord has created Suckpax, a series of collectible, vintage-style trading cards available solely on his website.

The first run is limited to 100 boxes (36 packs per box, seven cards per pack) and includes the following: exclusive one-of-a-kind original hand drawn “sketch cards,” 43 basic cards with rare “chase pieces,” signature cards, distressed cards (think shot with a gun), and mystery inserts.

Also, Sucklord (interviewed) channeled his inner Willy Wonka by randomly placing a Golden Ticket in one of the packs, which is redeemable for a special custom toy from the man himself.

Individual packs come bundled in fives for $25.00, while full boxes run $175.00. Click here for more purchasing information.

After the jump you’ll find an example of one of the trading cards (front and back) as well as a commercial showing how these things were made.

Suckpax were engineered in the USA by Sidekick Media–a new artist-service company specializing in the recreation of obsolete technologies for the purpose of artistic production.

    To whom it may concern,

When I was a youngster, we had real heroes to look up to. Fellas like Flash Gordon and Harmon Killebrew. Who the hell is this sucklord? I bet if he was...ah, nevermind.

    Sincerely,

    Roland L.
