It goes without saying that we’re huge fans of Williamsburg-based artist and toy maker, Tara McPherson. Her work is cutting edge and stretches the boundaries of our constantly evolving artistic aesthetic.

This interview was conducted with McPherson fresh off her 3o-city book tour around the US, Europe and Brazil. She talks about her own artistic evolution from a concert-poster designer to becoming one of the most recognizable female artists in the world.

She also gives a little insight into what she’ll be creating for Harley Davidson’s, ‘Art of Rebellion’ custom show in NYC on October 17th.

For those unfamiliar with the event, Harley Davidson hand-picked 10 U.S. artists who are “world-renowned in both the music and art world for their rock poster artwork.” Also participating are Art Chantry, Brian Ewing, Derek Hess, Dirty Donny, Frank Kozik, Harpoon, John Van Hamersveld, Lindsey Kuhn and The Pizz.

More show information after the break. In the meantime enjoy this interview with an emerging artist with whom you’d be remiss not to familiarize yourself.

The show, which is taking place on Saturday, October 17 at La.VENUE (608 W. 28th Street New York, NY), features Iron 883 Tanks and posters painted by the aforementioned artists.

A portion of the proceeds from poster and tank sales will go to CUE Art Foundation– a non-profit forum for contemporary art that gives artists, students, scholars and art professionals resources at many stages of their careers and creative lives

Hey …guys and girls..are you all at Jailbreak Toys going to introduce a line of other action figures…? If so..how about Reizko Jailhouse Bird…or and other Obama cronies in or should be in jail?

And by the way are these figures ..these toys…manufactured and assembled in the great USA? Naw..probably not…more likely..like most else now under Obama….MADE in CHINA!
