Directed by the duo of Philip Sanson and Olly Williams (Diamond Dogs), “The Black Hole” first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. It tells the fantastic tale of an office worker who accidentally discovers a black hole while making copies. However his curiosity quickly leads to greed, assuring a mishap and possibly even his vaulted demise.
Lee Crutchley has received quite a bit of love from the blogosphere because of his Quoteskin project. These are two of his best and most recent creations. Those who may have missed out on our original post can read it here.
The plastic potato-chip bag ensures only one thing: the inevitable and systematic demolition of each formerly full-bodied and delicious chip contained in its flimsy walls. It has long needed a makeover, and now, thanks to Petar Pavlov, we at least have a conceptual idea of what the future could be. Besides its obvious product protection capabilities, Pavlov’s model also utilizes a packaging structure that allows the box to close after opening. The chip clip has just been rendered obsolete! The third positive is environmental in nature. It seems that biodegradable cardboard could be used in lieu of whatever-the-hell chip bags are currently made of. An environmentally friendly, product protecting, freshness ensuring packaging concept? Why hasn’t this thing been made? Check out a blank DIY version available for download after the jump.
“Self Portrait” is the latest addition to Atlanta-based artist Mark Weaver’s stellar Flickr photostream. It has only been a few days since we first featured Weaver, but it seems like he updates his portfolio almost on a daily basis so the repetition is worthwhile. Here’s a quote about the inspiration behind Weaver’s latest work.

Artist Craig Kanarick collected candy from throughout the world and photographed his finds in color-coated collages that both look and (probably) taste delicious. Click here for more information on Kanarick. Six more after the jump. What happens when a secret agent fails? That’s what director Ryan Sluman explores in The Bronson Maneuver–this clever and imaginative, albeit short, animation featuring a claymated protagonist who meets his demise via laser beam. Also included is making-of featurette, which gives some insight into the animation and sculpting process of a short film. Credited are: Sluman – Puppet and Animation; Joon Kim – Concepts & Storyboards; Danny Dahlquist – Cleanup, SFX & Original Music; Mike McCain – Environments & Effects.
