Back in April I undertook the daunting, yet thoroughly rewarding, task of scouring the internet for stamps that corresponded to the famous folks in our Oddfellows collection. The stamps came from all around the world, and varied in terms of quality, presentation and time period. Anyhow, graphic designer Marc Alcock took my vision a step further and created this map of the world where each country is represented by its own native stamp. Pretty cool stuff. Here’s an interview with KAWS from the Stages show in Paris. He seems to be a pretty interesting guy. Notcot.com is a recent guilty pleasure of ours when it comes to the blogosphere. They provide an in-depth and constantly updated look at the modern world, focusing on that which provokes and inspires “ideas, aethetics and amusement.” Here’s a mini-retrospective they created that examines the various alterations of the ubiquitous MTV logo and background.
