Rappers love President Obama just about as much as anybody else. I was at the Common show two nights ago and he was going on and on about how happy he is that our president is a rapper (?). It sort of fits, though, because hip-hop music is pervasive in this country and now the whole movement has a voice beyond the pop culture icons. During his election, I think rappers were some of the most influential and outspoken voices in getting him elected. They speak to a generation, and the generation tends to listen.
