I put this up for no reason other than that it’s simpy awesome and I want you to watch it too.  It makes me wish it were 1967, I had a smooth stache, a sweet  leisure suit, and a bunch of semi-dorky, semi-cool friends with instruments.

Lest people should start to think that this is a political blog, it’s time I return to some more inane, frivolous and light-hearted fare

I’ve been enjoying Japanese game show clips on Youtube for quite a while now (the one above is an old favorite). To my surprise and delight, it seems that some big network execs at ABC green-lighted a pretty damn bizarre new “reality” show that sends a bunch of Americans over to Japan to compete in one of these shows and it’s hilarious!

This is a rare endorsement because I generally don’t like anything on network TV (Lost being the major exception) and I’m not eager to help them promote their business but this show, is innovative and it made me roll on the floor to boot. My spidey-sense tells me it will be a huge sleeper hit. You heard it here first. Now go watch*.

*a caveat: Bear through the first ten minutes. It seems like typical reality schlock until the game begins.
